Dr. Marchase is the founder and owner of South Carolina Retina Institute. A board-certified and fellowship-trained specialist in both surgical and medical retina care, Dr. Marchase provides advanced treatment for conditions affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous of the eye.
Dr. Marchase completed one of the world’s most rigorous surgical fellowships under the mentorship of Dr. Steve Charles, the most prolific retina surgeon in history. Dr. Charles was the lead designer of Alcon’s Constellation, the top surgical platform used globally for retina surgery.
During his time at the esteemed Charles Retina Institute and the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Dr. Marchase served as the Team Ophthalmologist for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies.
Dr. Marchase earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University’s School of Engineering, where he made the Dean’s List, and received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. He completed his internship at Baptist Health System, followed by his residency at Nassau University Medical Center in Long Island, NY, where he served as Chief Resident.

Outside of his professional career, Dr. Marchase and his wife Cara stay busy raising their three young children, ages 5, 3, and 2. When time allows, he enjoys golf, fishing, hiking, reading, traveling, and following college football.
